Once I was struggling trying to be on a diet all the time. I joined a
weight loss program, followed their diet, lost the weight and gained it
back. So, I joined a different diet club, lost the weight and gained it
back. Feeling desperate, I rejoined this club, knowing it was not the
answer but not knowing what else to do. About this time I began to hear
about Overeaters Anonymous. I read about it in an Ann Landers column, saw
it listed in a self-help column. And from a friend I heard that she still
had a glow on from her O.A. meeting the night before. I arranged to
attend my first meeting with her. I found my answer, the twelve-step way
of life. Not only is my weight stable, my whole living experience is
happier and healthier. My relationships, my health, my self-image, my
sleeping patterns and my energy have all greatly improved. Am I grateful
for finding this O.A. program? Oh yes! Would that I had found it
sooner!
